Alumnae at No 10 Downing Street!

Celebrating International Women's Day at No 10 Downing Street - Sassie & Jess Patel (2017 Leavers)

We were thrilled to hear that Sassie & Jess Patel (2017 Leavers) were invited to join the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak and other members of the Cabinet at a special event at Downing Street on Wednesday, International Womens' Day

Their brand, DeMoo Jeans was just 1 of 9 other brands to be invited to take part in the Female Entrepreneurs and Business Showcase.

As Sassie says "It really was a ✨pinch me moment✨ and one for the history books! It was such a privilege to be at No.10 with my business partners India and Jess, and particularly poignant as this month is DeMo's 5 years anniversary.  To chat 1 to 1 with the Prime Minister himself, top female CEOs across the UK, female MPs and the PMs wife about our business and mentorship opportunities was a moment we will never forget.  We helped them try on our headbands and our latest product; up-cycled blazers. We had such a laugh and it was great to hear their feedback on the style, fit and functionality in the workplace.  

The Prime Minister also gave a brilliant speech, celebrating female entrepreneurs and highlighting the importance of female businesses to the UK economy.  The energy and buzz in the room was a feeling I'll never forget. Being surrounded by so many talented, exceptional and inspiring women, all with a different purpose and cause left me feeling so inspired and proud".
