On Wednesday 1st November, we hosted a special 150th Anniversary Reception at Gallery Different, Percy Street, London.  The evening was for guests who lived in and around London and also showcased Celebrate Connect – St Mary’s London Art Exhibition.

Current & past parents, alumnae, former staff and governors enjoyed a lovely evening looking at all the wonderful art from our very talented current and former pupils, staff and members of our school community.   The Gallery was filled with so many different pieces including oils, pastel, sketches, mixed media and textiles.  Some of these pieces are for sale and have been gifted as part of an Silent Auction, please click here for more information as well as to see the full catalogue of work.

Diana Harrison, Acting Head, welcomed guests and commented on the wonderful creative environment and the importance of art at St Mary’s.  Cate Bell, Alumna, Governor and Chair of the CFT updated guests on how enjoyable all the events this year, as part of 150th Anniversary celebrations and in particular encouraged guests to consider joining the 150 Society as a way to further support St Mary’s and future pupils.

As with all our 150th Anniversary events, the evening was filled with laughter and chat, as so many of our vibrant community caught up with each other and celebrated their connection with St Mary’s.  2023 has truly been a wonderful opportunity to enjoy so many diverse and interesting occasions and a magnificent tribute to St Mary’s Calne!
