Dr Felicia Kirk and the Calne Girls’ Association were delighted to host a very special 5th Term Reunion and 2020 Leavers’ Celebration on Saturday 8th January at Bluebird Chelsea. The evening was a celebration of our 2020 Leavers’ time at St Mary’s. With cocktails, canapés and dancing, it was a fitting send-off to this cohort and along with their parents and guests, we all had a fantastic evening.

We shared photos, videos, and anecdotes as well as memories and achievements and Dr Kirk, Mr Smyth and Mrs Ross led tributes to the year and replicated parts of Founders’ Day by giving out Leavers’ gifts and recreating the infamous Great Escape departure. Former Head Girl, Georgia, also spoke of the triumphs and stories from their years at St Mary’s, as well as her reflections of life now at universtiy and their futures ahead. Many parents joined the party and loved catching up with friends and staff as well as enjoying the girls’ energy and excitement at being reunited!

As one Leaver said, in a thank you email : 'I just wanted to write to you to say a massive thank you for the spectacular evening you arranged for us all. The evening was a real hit and we were thrilled it was able to go ahead and everyone was so grateful to be given the chance to reconnect with each other and with teachers after so long of not having the opportunity. What is truly amazing is how, although eighteen months have passed, when we all came together it felt as though it had been no time at all - in the best way possible. It really was special and something I am sure will be remembered for many years to come… the year group chat was flooded with anecdotes and praise the morning after.'
