Reunions & Events |
On Tuesday 29th November, we welcomed Hatta Byng (1995 Leaver) back to St Mary's to give a CGA Chapel Talk. Hatta is Editor of House and Garden magazine, came to talk to the Sixth Form about her career journey since leaving Calne.
Over supper before her talk, we had the pleasure of discussing her fond memories of the school as well as her experience of working in South Africa.
She had some great tips for history of art students, having spent time studying both Architectural History and History of Art at Edinburgh University.
After supper, we were all delighted to hear about her fascinating career in more depth, from her discovery of journalism to the challenges and rewards of her role as editor.
Her advice, such as never saying no (within reason!), was particularly impactful. All in all, it was an interesting and inspiring evening, thank you Hatta!
